The Person I Admire Most There are quite a few people that I admire greatly, but the one that comes first on my list is Abraham Lincoln, the great American emancipator. Although he was born poor, he worked hard and honestly, and eventually became President of the A part from the many fine qualities that Lincoln had, I admire him most because he dared to do what he thought was right at a time when his beliefs were very unpopular with many people. Thank you very much for choosing to come in such a cold night.Today my topic is about choice and process.A research shows that a man has to make 73 choices one day.With so many choices one day, people easily get so confused and afraid of making wrong choice that they hesitate and finally miss the true part of life. In my opinion, the following part is of much more importance than the choice. There is no absolute right or wrong choice but wonderful or boring life, which the process makes the difference.
Life is a box of chocolate,you never know what you will get. Forrest Gump made no decision by and for himself but he accomplished great success with his strong will in the process. The process is not the road itself but the attitudes and feelings ,the caution, courage and persistance we have as we encounter new experience and unexpected obstacles. Take myself as an example, I changed my major when I became a postgraduate. After the choice,days have been harsh for me.I cannot understand the new lessons at all. For they are closely related to mathmatics which I learned nothing about before. However wuth the belief that this is the great chance for me to experience new ideas and challenge myself,I persisted.
I asked for help from every channel and reorgonized my life. Gradually I could understand some parts and even found maths interesting.Moreover, I learned to act instead of complaining. Everybody wishes (hopes) to get money so that he can maintain his livelihood. In other words, money is so useful that it is impossible for mankind to live without it. For this reason, we have an interesting proverb. It says “Money can make the world go around.” In a word, money is more powerful than anything else.
However, money should not be wasted. It must be used for (some) proper purposes. We young men should form the good habit of not spending money in the wrong way.

when i was young, i used to be very naughty. life then was like a glaball ,shining with bright colours. i had once gone down to the river bank, catching a great many worms and was afterwards punished by mum. i had ever cut the pillow towel into pieces in order to make clothes for my dolls. similarly, i was then blamed seriously. once i even put the hot iron on the floor which immediately burnt a big hole on the carpet. although i had done so many annoying things, my childhood seemed to be rather colourful. however, i had never had a clear definition about myself. but then something happened. it had made a great difference to my life and made who i am now.
i had always been afraid of having the intravenous drop in hospital. the first time i was taken to have the drop, i cried for almost half an hour and finally gave off at father's severe scolding. watching the cold needle stabbing into my skin, i cried even more loudly. at that time, i never dared to take a glance at my hand and always needed my mother to stay with me at my side. even if mum had told me many times," honey, there’s nothing to be scared of. just close your eyes and sleep." i would still keep my eyes wide open, watching the liquid flow through the bottle and never slept.
nevertheless, things just happened in a casual way. when i caught a high fever again when young, mum had to send for the doctor home to treat me. i was so sick that i became quite drowsy and then slept. when i suddenly woke up in the afternoon, i found the liquid in the bottle had already flown over ,while mum and dad were not around. i yelled, but finally found it was of no use. so i jumped out of the bed and pulled up the tubule. in the nature of things, the blood came out and dropped along the way i went downstairs. things became different at the time i went down alone. i discovered that i could be independent. i was much stronger than i had thought. looking back on the girl who cried all day, i came to understand suddenly that the strong part of the inner myself had been existing all the time. seeing the anxious mum, i revealed a big smile to her. i could see that mum was trying to hold her tears back and scrubbed my blood on the hand. she didn't know that her little girl had stealthily grown up.
since then, i became stronger. as you see now, standing in front of you is a confident and sunny girl. in my grown-up life, i've never cried for being injured no matter how serious it is. i can even go to the hospital alone when mum and dad are on business. i came acroso many difficulties in life, while i've never thought of giving up. thanks to that extraordinary experience at my age of ten, i discovered a person inside myself who has been so important and unique to me. just like what dad had told me before, "people are like tea bags—you have to put them in hot water before you know how strong they are."

My favorite class is gym.I can't wait for PE.It's really fun,fun,fun.
I love to get out of class.I need a break from books.It fells great to move around.We all look forward to it.It's a chance to unwind.It's like an escape to freedom.
We have gym twice a week.We wear T-shirts and shorts.We play both inside and out.PE starts off with exercise.
We stretch,bend and twist.It's always important to warm up.We do jumping jacks.We do push-ups and sit-ups.then we jog around the track.
Finally,the real fun begins.We divide into teams.We play sports and compete.I like basketball and dodge ball.
I enjoy badminton and ping-pong,too.Soccer is the most exciting to me.Win or lose,it's OK.There's no pressure at all.
That's why I love gym class so much.

By the time John pulled into the little town, every hotel room was taken. “You've got to have a room somewhere.” he pleaded. “Or just a bed--I don't care where.”
“Well, I do have a double room with one occupant,” admitted the manager,“ and he might be glad to split the cost. But to tell you the truth, he snores so loudly that people in adjoining rooms have complained in the past. I'm not sure it'd be worth it to you.”
“No problem,” the tired traveler assured him. “I'll take it.”
The next morning, John came down to breakfast bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. When asked about how he slept, he replied, “Never better.”
The manager was impressed. “No problem with the other guy snoring, then?”
“Nope. I shut him up in no time.”
“How'd you manage that?”
“He was already in bed, snoring away, when I came in the room,” John said. “I went over, gave him a kiss on the cheek, said, 'Goodnight, beautiful.' With that he sat up all night watching me.”

When I was a naughty boy, may be because of the influence of the film.Xiao Bing ZhangGa,my dream was to be a soldier just like Zhang Ga. I thought if I was a soldier, I should beable to swim, dive and climb trees as he did. It seemed to be very wonderful. So I began tolearn swimming, diving and climbing trees. I practiced every day and finally I could do them well.But when I entered junior high school and had the military training. I suddenly found thatbeing a soldier was very difficult and I wasnt strong enough to bear it . I had to give mydream up.
But I wasnt discouraged, and I had new aim, which was to be a postman, or rather to bea newspaper boy. As a newspaper boy. I could speed along streets on a bike and thrownewspapers onto every porch. Thats also very cool. So I started learning to ride a bicycle.After the everyday practice, I could go very fast by bicycle. But to my disappointment, the jobwhich I wanted only existed in western counties not in China, because there was no porch inChina. And Chinese postmen had to stuff very thick newspapers into very small mailboxes fromvery narrow entrances. The job was far from what I had expected. So once again my dream fellthrough.
Perhaps you have had the same experience as I and most of your dreams havent cometrue yet. But I think it doesnt matter, because if you have a dream, youll make many effortsto realize it. This course is really important. If I hadnt dreamt of being a soldier or anewspaper boy. I wouldnt have learned to swim, to dive, to climb trees or to ride a bicycle.Even if our dream cant come true, youll learn much from the efforts you have made.
