But now, basketball, my best friend, I havent touched it for almost two months. Me- time seems to have become a luxury. Last week, when I heard there was going to be a basketball match between our school and No 1 Middle School, I was so excited that I rushed home and told my parents the news. I asked my father, “ Dad, may I play basketball after school ? The coach says I am the best guard in our school. If I join the school basketball team, we are sure to beat No 1 Middle School this time.” My father showed his dispproval and said, “ Of course you cant. Im disappointed at you. Why do you have such a silly idea? Dont forget to work hard on your schoolwork and piano lessons.” In my parents points of view, playing basketball is a waste of time. As far as Im concerned, the school assignment to the junior school students is too heavy. To grow into healthy and well-rounded adults, we should be allowed to have more me-time for relaxation. The pressure put on our students by excessive schoolwork can cause serious stress, which is unhealthy physically and mentally. My dear teachers, I hope you can assign less homework so we students can enjoy a period of me-time. My dear parents, would you please not follow me and remind me of study all the time? Please trust me that I will do my best. My dear friends, why not stop for a while from your heavy homework and do anything you like? Its me-time. I do think, that a reduction of the current heavy load would be beneficial to us students and to the society as a whole. Finding me-time will make our life rich, colorful and rewarding. Everyone have dreams which are everybody yearning. The man who without dreams in his life will be empty but dreams always be changing as your thought go forward.
When I was in primary school I had a dream. I hope that I won't have homework to do one day. But the time we can play have became less and less and 1/3 in our day we were imprisoned in the classroom so many time on study!
And till I come to the junior high school I had a dream I hope I can become a good childI can be praised by my family when I return home;can be sure by teachers at school; and can have a outstanding performance among the classmates .So shortly afterwards I had learned to struggle. Man’s life is a process of growing up, actually I’m standing here is a growth. If a person’s life must constituted by various choices, then I grow up along with these choices. 3 My Definition of Success
“Once upon a time, there was a king who had a daughter as beautiful as a blooming rose. To all the suitors who came to the king's palace to ask for the hand of the princess, the old king assigned three tasks to be accomplished, each next to impossible. One day, into the king's palace came a handsome young prince..." Well, you know the rest. The three tasks may be different in different versions, but the main plot is always the same, with the prince claiming the princess's hand triumphantly.
And the ending is always the same, finishing with the line "And they live happily every after."
Why aren't we tired of something so fanciful, so unrealistic, and, I would say, so unimaginative? How can a story like that endure generations of repetition`? Because, I think, it is a typical success story. It is highly philosophical and symbolic. By implication, we see a 4-step definition of success: 1 ) a goal to be set. as represented by the beautiful princess; 2 ) challenges to be met, as represented by the three tasks; 3 ) the process of surmounting difficulties, as represented by the ordeals the youth goes through; and 4 ) the reward of success, as represented by the happy marriage.
The story not only caters to everyone's inward yearning for success, but also emphasizes the inseparability of the process and the result. The reward of success will be much amplified if the path leading towards it is treacherous, and vice versa. If a person inherits his father's millions and leads an easy life, he is not a successful person even in material terms, because there are no difficulties involved in his achieving affluence. The term "success", to be sure. will not sit still for easy definition. But as I understand it, the true meaning of success entails a combination of both the process and the satisfactory result of an endeavor. To clarify my view, let me give another ogy.
If we changed the rules of football, greatly enlarged the goal and sent away David Seaman or any other goal keeper, so that another David, namely David Beckham, could score easily, then scoring would not give him the thrill of accomplishment and the joy that it brings. If we further changed the rules by not allowing Arsenal's defenders to defend, so that Beckham needed only to lift a finger, actually a toe, to score, then there would be no game at all, because the meaning of winning would have disappeared. In accepting the challenge, in surmounting the difficulties and in enduring the hardship, success acquires its value. The sense of attainment varies in proportion to the degree of difficulties on overcomes.
The concept of success is not constant but relative because the nature of difficulty is also relative. Something you do effortlessly might pose a great difficulty for a handicapped person. In acquiring the ability to do the same as you can, he or she achieve success. That's why we greatly admire Stephen Hawking, because, though confined to a wheel chair, he has contributed greatly to the field of science.
I myself, a rather shy person by nature who easily suffer from stage fright, had to pluck up great courage to take part in a speech contest like this. I could have stayed away and had an easy time of it by not entering the university level contest.But I chose to accept the challenge and to face the difficulties. Now here I am. If I come out first, it will be a great success for me. If I come out last-I hope this will not be the case-but if I come out last, I will not call my attempt a failure, but will also celebrate it as a true success, because part of my goal is my own character training-to do more assertive, to be brave in face of difficulties. For me, it is a meaningful step forward, all as it is, in the long journey toward the final success in my life, because I have truly gained by participating.
Let us return to our handsome young prince and the 4-step definition of success. You my have noticed that the usual worldly criteria of wealth, position and fame were not mentioned as part of the story, but rather, it emphasized the process of overcoming difficulties. The ancient wisdom had already defined the meaning of success, and this is my definition, too.

一。班级基本情况：
1.本班共有学生71人，其中女生30人，男生41人。单亲家庭学生多和留守儿童多，很多同学回家后外于无人管的状态，班级学习气氛不浓厚，集体荣誉感不强。(主要是我们的同学都比较自私)，但我们班级教育教学秩序井然，同学之间、师生之间关系融洽，学生生活、学习等各方面都在不断进步。
作为学生的数学教师兼班主任，我和他们已经共同度过了一年多的时光，一年多来，每一个学生在我的心中都留有深刻的印象。学生在一年多的学习中一部分同学取得了许多优异的成绩。
2.成绩情况：
在平时的学习中，我们班有以上的同学表现较好：
二。存在的一些问题：
1.部分学生自信心严重不足，有悲观失望情绪。
2.部分学生的学习方法不对，导致成绩不好。
3.部分同学对知识的掌握不够扎实；平时不认真学习，考前没仔细复习。
进取4.有些同学在学习上没有表现出很强烈的心，得过且过，成绩也就不是很拔尖。

三。下阶段采取的措施：
1.加强思想教育工作，增强学生的自信心和成才欲望，充分利用课堂及班会时间给同学们加油鼓劲。
2.严格管理，加强纪律性，增强时间观念。
3.向偏科现象较严重的同学介绍好的学习经验。
四。为了更好的促进学生发展，需要请家长配合的事情： 1.协助学校落实学生行为规范(头发、挂件、MP3、手机等) 2.切实解决学生心理问题，树立信心，轻装上阵。
3.以身作则，在家庭中培养良好学习氛围

5.控制孩子的零花钱。

五。给家长教育孩子提几点建议：
1.要经常与学校、老师取得联系，及时了解学校对学生的要求，学生在校的各方面表现，积极配合学校做好工作。
2.要培养孩子的处事能力，要让孩子学会自己管理自己。
3.要注重对孩子学习习惯和学习能力的培养，使学生形成良好的学习方法。
4.要学会欣赏孩子，要善于发现他们的闪光点，及时给予鼓励，以增强他们的自信心。多关心，少责骂。多关心他们的生活，关心他们的身体健康，关心他们的学习情况。
5.要多严格，少溺爱。
要求孩子少上网，禁止浏览不良网站的有关信息。电视少看，周末必须保证按时保质完成学习任务的。
6.要全面而准确地估计自己的孩子。不要正确看待孩子的分数。分数不能决定一切，高分未必高能，只有素质综合、全面发展，有较强的适应能力和创新能力的学生才能适应未来社会的竞争和挑战。不以成绩论英雄，您的子女学习成绩好，并不意味着思想好、能力高，您的子女学习成绩落后，并不意味着思想差、能力低。现在的社会需要各种各样的人才。只要有能力，任何一个学生都能在社会上立足，并且成就一番事业。
7.要多给孩子一点信心，做孩子成长的强有力的后盾。科学的分析子女的成绩档案。不与其他同学作比较，而是着眼于自身的比较。比较前后几次考试，看是否退步，原因是什么。比较各科之间的成绩，看哪科是弱项，多花些时间补上。由于孩子的个体差异，免不了成绩有好有坏，孩子由于不肯学习，导致成绩差，我们就应该适当的批评，并督促其及时完成当天老师布置的作业，同时做好功课的复习巩固工作：如果孩子很尽力了，成绩却不怎么理想，我们更应该给他信心，而不是一味的给他泼冷水，这样反而会使他对学习产生反感的情绪。
8.要教育学生遵守纪律。
家有家法，校有校规，班级也有班级的纪律，这些规定和纪律，是同学们提高成绩的保证，学生只有好好的遵守这些纪律，才能够形成一个良好的班级，才能够全面提高自己的水平。我们要让学生明白：一个懂得规矩，并且自觉的遵守规矩的人，才能够时刻按照规矩办事，才能够使自己进步。
抓好子女在家的行为习惯。如良好的休息、科学的安排学习、适量的家务劳动(劳动是教育人的较好方式，只有劳动，他才懂得来之不易，懂得珍惜)等。
9.要在孩子面前做好表率，身教重于言教。
Unforgetable Experience
Once I changed my attitude toward everything, I recognized my world, my future and myself. It happened when my friends and I had almost finished our last academic year and were invited by our lovely and friend like teachers to an amazing trip, to Issyk-Kul, the pearl of Kyrgyz land. About five of my best friends and I were going to the breathtaking places of our motherland where we decided to have an unforgettable days of our life.
In evening, we were usually watching comedy films and films about the battles. But on another day we decided to have a party, so we went to a local disco named as Discovery. And the life would be more interesting that night if I didn’t quarrel with my best friend. We started arguing only for our own interests; he insisted on drinking some alcohol and dance, I insisted on not doing that because it would bring big problems and moreover it would be shame on ourselves. Unfortunately, all my friends were against me, because they thought that we could afford drinking alcohol considering that we were about to finish our school. That night I lost all my best friends just in a moment. All my thoughts about friendship were ruined; my heart burst into small pieces that will never be joined any more. And from that moment I started to build everything in my life from zero. I became more serious with my attitude toward people and became more careful myself as well.

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, Today I'm going to talk about sandstorm.
Sandstorm is a kind of bad weather witch is becoming increasingly common in Northwestern China, and it usually happens in spring and fall. Though I'm only 13, I have experienced it and suffered from it quite a lot.
I'm sure most people still remember the sandstorm that happened last month. It swept across the large area of 11 provinces and caused a great loss to our nation.
As you can see on TV, when a sandstorm comes, the wind blows strongly with dust and sand. Sometimes trees are even broken down in half, and little birds cannot find their homes. Sometimes clouds of dust blur the vision, and little kids cannot find their ways. It's like the end of the world.
When a sandstorm occurs, our classroom is filled with dust and sand. My poor teachers! They've breathed in enough chalk-powder. Now, they have to take in much dust. My poor fellow classmates! They told me they were almost dying.
We love beautiful spring. We cherish bright sunshine. But sandstorms destroy all the lovely things. Yet we know it is Mother Nature's revenge on what we have done to her. A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree. A little boy lovedto come and play around it every day. He climbed to the tree top, ate the apples, took a nap under the shadow… He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him.
Time went by…The little boy had grown up and he no longer played around the tree.
One day, the boy came back to the tree and looked sad. “Come and play with me,” the tree asked the boy.
“I am no longer a kid, I don’t play around trees anymore.” The boy replied, “I want toys. I need money to buy them.” “Sorry, but I don’t have money…but you can pick all my apples and sell them. So, you will have money.” The boy was so excited. He picked all the apples on the tree and left happily. The boy didn’t come back after he picked the apples. The tree was sad.
One day, the boy returned and the tree was so excited. “Come and play with me.” The tree said. “I don’t have time to play. I have to work for my family. We need a house for shelter. Can you help me?” “Sorry, but I don’t have a house. But you can cut off my branches to build your house.” So the boy cut all the branches of the tree and left happily.
The tree was glad to see him happy but the boy didn’t appear since then. The tree was again lonely and sad. One hot summer day, the boy returned and the tree was delighted. “Come and play with me!” the tree said.
“I am sad and getting old. I want to go sailing to relax myself. Can you give me a boat?” “Use my trunk to build the boat. You can sail and be happy.” So the boy cut the tree trunk to make a boat. He went sailing and did not show up for a long time.
Finally, the boy returned after he left for so many years. “Sorry, my boy. But I don’t have anything for you anymore. No more apples for you.” the tree said. “ I don’t have teeth to bite.” The boy replied. “ No more trunk for you to climb on.” “I am too old for that now.” the boy said. “I really want to give you something…the only thing left is my dying roots.” The tree said with tears. “I don’t need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these years.” The boy replied. “Good! Old tree roots are the best place to lean on and rest. Come here, please sit down with me and have a rest.” The boy sat down and the tree was glad and smiled with tears…
This is a story of everyone. The tree is our parent. When we were young, we loved to play with Mom and Dad… When we grow up, we leave them, andonly come to them when we need something or when we are in trouble. No matter what, parents will always be there and give everything they could to make you happy. You may think that the boy is cruel to the tree but thats how all of us are treating our parents.
As everyone knows，English is very important today.It has been used everywhere in the world.It hasbecome themost common language on Internetand for international trade. If we can speak English well，we will have more chance to succeed.Because more and more people have taken notice of it，the number of the people who go to learn English has increased at a high speed.
But for myself，I learn English not only because of its importance and its usefulness，but also because of my love for it.When I learn English，I can feel a different way of thinking which gives me more room to touch the world.When I read English novels，I can feel the pleasurefromthe book which is differentfromreading the translation.When I speak English，I can feel the confidentfrommy words.When I write English，I can see the beauty which is not the same as our Chinese...

This famous Indian poet once said, “Life is given to us, and we earn it by giving it.
” As the saying goes, nature is given to us, and we earn it by contributing to it.
However, most people nowadays just want to ask for morefromthe nature.
In fact, they do very little contribution to the nature.
Therefore, the environment around us is becoming worse and worse.
Do you often use batteries? Then do you know it takes 50 times more energy to make them than they produce? And just one simple battery can pollute as much water as a person can drink in his whole life.
The facts and figures are amazing.
So would you please try to use batteries only when it is necessary? If possible, give the used ones to the recycling companies so that they will be made into new ones and won’t be able to pollute the environment any more.
Sometimes we become complacent when it comes to recycling, but when you speak in terms of actual facts and figures that everybody can understand, people become much clearer about the problem.
We, as school students, can also join in recycling activities to protect the environment.
For example, our class set up a recycling center beside the back door, it is very useful.
It is used to collect the waste paper and plastic bottles.
In the past, our classmates used to throw all of these into the trashcan.
At the very beginning of this collecting activity, it was not so warm-welcomed.
Later, more and more people were influenced by the others and joined this collecting activity.
Gradually, all the students in our class form a good habit to protect the environment.
All of us will now put away the reusable things instead of throwing them into the trashcan.
We should always remember in our mind that protecting the environment is our duty that we can never neglect.

Be Grateful to Life
At the beginning I would like to share a story with you. Once American President Roosevelt’s house was broken into and lots of things were stolen. Hearing this, one of his friends wrote to comfort him. President Roosevelt wrote back immediately, saying:“Dear friend, thank you for your letter, but I am all right now. I think I should thank God. for three reasons: firstly, the thief only stole things from me but did not hurt me at all; secondly, the thief has stolen some of my things instead of all my things; thirdly, most luckily for me, it was the man rather than me who became a thief.
It is certainly unlucky for anyone to be stolen from. However, President Roosevelt had three reasons to be grateful. This story tells us we should learn to be grateful in our life. There is a sentence from Mahatma Gandhi:“Live as you were to die tomorrow, learn as you were to live forever. ”
Great people are always showing their love to the world. How about us?You can not do everything, but still you can do something. So, be grateful to your life, all the people and things in your life.
Be grateful to the nature, for the fresh air you breathe, the clean water you drink, the beautiful flower you smell.
Be grateful to your parents, for they gave birth to you and taught you right from wrong.
Be grateful to your teachers, for they let you understand “what”,“how”and“why” with great patience.
Be grateful to your friends, for you have known each other since you were 9 or 10 and faced the difficulties together for so many years.
Be grateful to your lover, for he/she gave you love and helped you find the sun every time you were down.
Mother Teresa once said:“People really need help, but may attack you if you help them. Help people anyway; Give the world the best you have and you may get kicked in the teeth. 记得前不久，我还了南湖边，看龙舟竞渡，那儿人山人海，一派热闹的景象，南湖边上围满了人，不用说他们就是来看龙舟竞赛的，只见不远处湖面上，停泊着大大小小的的龙舟，龙舟选手们严阵以待，不过一会儿就上了各自的龙舟，他们一个个精神抖擞，似乎真的是要打捞屈原。一眨眼的工夫，他们就开始了，随着“嘿咻嘿咻”的口号声。他们有节奏地划起龙舟，这使我不禁想象起了当时百姓们纷纷去打捞屈原时的情景……
